I'm the founder and creative director behind Sumner Lane. I've always been drawn to the details that make everyday life feel more special. A beautifully wrapped gift, an unexpected piece of home décor, a handwritten note, or a birthday table that someone clearly put their heart into. I believe the things we surround ourselves with should reflect who we are, what we love, and the memories we want to hold onto.

I grew up on a street called Sumner Lane, in a home where creativity was simply part of everyday life. My mom had a degree in teaching and was constantly introducing us to different artists, books, and creative mediums. There was always finger painting happening at the kitchen table, books scattered around the house, and Mozart playing as we fell asleep. Looking back, it was an incredibly special childhood, and I think so much of my creative eye can be traced back to those years.

I've held onto the name Sumner Lane for years, always knowing I wanted to use it for something meaningful. When I finally launched the brand in October 2023, it felt like the perfect way to bring together my love for design, art, and the sentimental things in life.

A little about my taste.

I'm endlessly inspired by the way people live, dress, decorate, entertain, and express themselves. I love discovering a brand I've never heard of, finding an unexpected vintage piece, or walking into someone's home and noticing all the details that make it uniquely theirs.

My personal style is a mix of French influence, vintage finds, understated femininity, and something looking a little undone. I'm drawn to things that feel effortless but considered, polished but never too perfect. I love pieces that look as though they've been collected over time rather than bought all at once.

This perspective has naturally found its way into Sumner Lane. What started with paper goods has grown into a creative world of gifts, party pieces, and keepsakes. I'm interested in creating things that are beautiful enough to display, thoughtful enough to gift, and meaningful enough to keep.

Why I do what I do.

I've always felt that the smallest details can completely change how something feels. A birthday becomes more memorable when the table is set just right. A gift feels more personal when you've taken the time to choose something unexpected. A home becomes more meaningful when it's filled with objects that tell your story.

I want to create things that make people feel more connected to their own creativity and personal style. Not things that simply follow what's popular, but pieces that feel like they were discovered rather than mass-produced for everyone.

As Sumner Lane continues to evolve, so do I. I'm always collecting inspiration, exploring new creative mediums, following my curiosity, and figuring out what comes next. Building a business has taught me just as much about myself as it has about entrepreneurship, and I'm still very much enjoying the process of figuring it all out.
